Tag Rugby: Summer Tournament starts at Belfast Harlequins.

The Ulster Tag Summer tournament kicked off at Belfast Harlequins RFC with 11 teams taking part and our photographer Bob Given was there to capture the welcome return to action after the long lay off.

After a year out of the game the players were just glad to get a run out and it was a fairly gentle reintroduction for the experienced sides who each played three 20 minute “non competition” games over the evening.

Emma Jordan makes a break for Tag Babes as Ulster Tag Rugby returned to Belfast Harlequins on Tuesday 1st June 2021.

QUBES make a winning start against Hunterquins as Ulster Tag Rugby returned to Belfast Harlequins on Tuesday 1st June 2021.

It was great to see some sporting action and it was even better that, as restrictions ease, we were able to get along for some photographs.

The Summer Tag competition will continue at 18:45 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Belfast Harlequins RFC throughout June and, given the circumstances, the organisers are keeping registration open for the coming weeks so there is still time to enter a team at the “experienced” or “beginners” level.
