Alcorn first came to our attention in the summer of 2016 in a couple of hit outs for Ulster U18 ahead of the Interprovincials.

Mya Alcorn breaks clear for Ulster U18 against Munster U18’s

She certainly fulfilled her promise during the interpros for a couple of seasons before injury struck but we’ve caught up with her more recently at the Girls Schools Cup Final at Ravenhill and she has been heavily involved with the Ireland U18 7s programme over the last few years. Delighted to see she has now progressed to the seniors.

There are not a lot of details out there about the tournament which is understandable. It has been hastily arranged between the IRFU and Team GB to give game time to Ireland Men 7s ahead of their Olympic Repechage Tournament which takes pace on 19th June and to give some game time to the Team GB 7s squads ahead of their Olympic appearances in July.

Video highlights packages will be available across Irish Rugby digital channels each day, while there will be full coverage of the HPC International 7s on IrishRugby.ie. so keep an eye on the IRFU social channels and you might get a quick glimpse of this Ulster flyer. 🙂
