2021-06-25 Ireland 0 Great Britain 3, Development Match 3

Ireland Women have been playing Great Britain women in a development series at The University of Ulster Campus, Jordanstown.

We caught up with the teams in Match 3 of a four match series. Ireland have won the first two game, each by a 1 – 0 scoreline.

GB set out determined to avenge those defeats. From the start they employed an aggressive defence, closing Ireland down by blitzing the player in possession and denying Ireland a way out of their own half.

It was no surprise that GB took the lead early in the first quarter. They continued to dominate territory and possession but could not increase their lead, GB taking their single goal advantage into the half time break.

After the break GB continued to press and increased their lead a few minutes into the third quarter.

Despite stout defence Ireland conceded a fourth quarter goal to leave GB victorious, with a deserved 3-0 win.
