The Front Row Union Sport - Community Series: Rainey Old Boys 17 Malone 10

On Saturday Rainey entertained Malone in a Community Series Ulster Conference 1 game at Hattricks Park, Magherafelt.

For over 30 minutes defences dominated proceedings, before a Jules Storey try after 34 minutes, converted by Callum Smyth broke the deadlock.

Rainey replied before the break with a penalty goal by Scott Mclean to leave Malone leading 7-3 at half time.

Another Smyth penalty goal on 47 minutes increased Malone’s lead to 10-3.

Defenses were again on top until the 74^th minute when Brad Roberts crashed over midway out for Rainey. Mclean’s conversion tied the game at 10 all.

From the kick off Rainey fielded the ball and moments later Ian Bratton touched down in the corner. Mclean nailed the conversion from the angle to give Rainey a 17-10 victory.
