Club Women: City of Derry 10 Cooke 20

City of Derry welcomed Cooke to judges Road on Saturday evening for a preseason training match, known locally as the Beth Cregan Inter City Challenge. Cregan being the coach of City of Derry and a leading player with Cooke.

The teams spent equal time in defence and attack as they looked to dust off the cobwebs of the extended closed season.

Lizzie Ballentine and Cregan both crossed for Derry during their periods of attack with Cooke replying through Hanna Harris, India Daley, Laura Cairns and the ever youthful Hannah Kilgore.

Speaking after the game Cregan told The Front Row Union:

It was a good game with a lot of new players making their starts for both teams.

It was great to finally get some contact and both teams will be able to build on this hit out as they prepare for the upcoming Community Series.
