Celtic Cup: Round 1 Wrap

Ulster A got their Celtic Cup campaign with an away win, beating Scarlets A 32 – 35 in Llandovery on Saturday afternoon.

Ulster’s scores came from tries by Azur Allison, Callum Reid, David McCann and Peter Cooper with Bruce Houston adding 3 penalties and 3 conversions for a personal haul of 15 points.

Ulster were the only side to win away from home though, unsurprisingly, it was defending champions Leinster A who set the pace scoring 6 tries in a 47 – 24 home win against Cardiff Blues A.

It looks like being an exciting competition with 255 points scored over the four games, an average of 56 points per match. There were 29 tries in Week 1 with four teams picking up a try bonus.

The results from the weekend are shown below.
