Queen’s University 2nd XV and Grosvenor go head to head on Easter Monday at Ravenhill in the McCrea Cup Final, kick off 12:30.
After a successful first season in Championship Division 1, Grosvenor go into this game as favourites. However, if any team is going to upset the odds it has to be the students who topped the Provincial League Division 1 and are looking at Championship rugby next season.
As the Provincial League is not one we cover, due to resources, our yardstick on Queen’s chances is their semi final win against Academy which we covered. The students came out on top against a good Academy side that evening plus they disposed of Conference 2 side, Malone II, in the quarterfinal so they will be going into Monday’s game with a fair degree of confidence.
