Belfast High School entertained Strabane Academy in this Danske bank Ulster Schools Cup Second Round match on Saturday morning.

The game rattled along at a good pace in a fairly even first half. However it was Belfast High that managed to capitalise on their chances with two tries giving them a 12 – 0 lead at the break.

The home side added a third try at the start of the second half before one of the Academy players was yellow carded for a reckless tackle. However, Strabane rallied and scored two tries either side of a fourth and fifth from the High School to take the score to 31 – 12.

A late flourish from the home side saw the High School score another two tries under the posts for a final score of Belfast High 45 Strabane Academy 12.

The High School points came from tries by Jack Ferguson, Cameron McKimm (2), Ben Reid, Aaron Douglas, Scott Hutton and captain Jay Doyle and conversions from Aaron Douglas (3) and Ben Reid (2). Strabane responded through tries from Tom Harpur, and Jordan Mealiff with the impressive scrum half Jamie Browne adding one conversion.
