Belfast Met entertained very near neighbours Malone U18 in a top of the table Ulster Carpets U18 South league game at the Castlereagh Campus on Saturday morning.

Following a break down the right wing and a quickly recycled ball, Curtis Henry scored an unconverted try to give Belfast Met the lead.

Malone enjoyed most of the game and midway though the 1st half scored a try close to the posts through Jason Dowds, which was converted by Matthew McDowell, to take the lead.

Malone continued to dominate and it was against the run of play that Ross Warren scored an unconverted try in the corner, on the stroke of half time to give Belfast Met a 10 – 7 lead at the break.

The 2nd half saw Belfast Met enjoy most of the territory and possession and it was no surprise when they increased their lead through a Stuart Wightman try, converted by Jack Lennon.

In the closing moments Jack Rainey scored an unconverted try out wide to give Belfast Met a deserved 22 – 7 victory.
