It took less than 90 seconds for the ‘navy blue machine’ to click into action at Pirrie Park on Saturday morning with a converted try against a very young Ballymena Academy team.

A further converted try followed and Ballymena responded with a penalty goal.

Ballymena had parity in the line out but were out scrummed, out rucked & out mauled by a ruthless MCB side, which scored a further 2 converted tries before half time.

After the break it was more of the same. Methody scored a further 4 tries, 3 converted. Ballymena, who never gave up, managed a consolation try close to the end.
