Club Men: Ulster Junior Cup Wrap & Semi Final Draw.

The Millar McCall Wylie Ulster Junior Cup quarter finals took place this weekend with eight sides competing for progression to the semi finals on or before Saturday 24th November.

I’d predicted wins for Malone II, Ballynahinch II, Larne and Dromore in my preview with only my beloved Larne letting me down, and rather spectacularly at that!  🙄 The results from the weekend are shown below.

You can click these links for all the pics from Larne v Grosvenor and Malone II v Lisburn and apart from the Larne score I’m pretty pleased that the rest of the results were pretty much spot on.

Lisburn and Limavady can feel themselves unlucky to have been pitched up against two “cup specialist” sides who not only have the “Ravenhill habit” but also the resources to back it up. The two All Ireland Club second strings will now be eying the final having been kept apart in the semi final draw.

However, Grosvenor, who summarily dismissed a reasonably strong Larne side, and Dromore, who have impressed each time we’ve seen them this season, definitely have a say. With both the Junior Clubs drawn at home on what should, coincidentally, be a busy weekend in the AIL they both have a very realistic chance of progression.

The semi final draw follows, with matches to be played on or before Saturday 24th November:
