Methodist College, Belfast, hosted Belfast Royal Academy on Saturday morning at Pirrie Park in an exciting game that Methody won 33-13.

An early converted Methody try was countered by two Academy penalties, before a further try for the hosts on the stroke of half time gave Methody a 12 – 6 lead as the team’s changed ends.

After the break Methody tied up possession & the ‘navy blue machine’ kicked into gear, scoring three converted tries to take the score to 33 – 6. With minutes to go BRA managed a consolation converted try.

Kevin McNaboe (2), Chris Larmour, Tom O’Doherty and Max Lyttle all crossed for Methody with Ethan McIlroy landing two penalties and one conversion.

Belfast Royal Academy’s Harry Warke kicked two penalties and converted Adam Keed’s try.

Final score: Methodist College 33 Belfast Royal Academy 13
