The second match in Narbonne on Sunday featured Australia U20 against Japan U20 with both teams looking for a win following opening day losses in Pool A.

Australia ran out winners by eight tries to three with Semisi Tupou, Mack Hansen, Michael Wood, Efi Maafu, Matthew McTaggart and Tate McDermott all crossing before replacement Ryan Lonergan bagged a late brace.

Japan responded with tries from Kyohei Yamasawa, Kai Yamamoto and replacement Sioeli Vakalahi.
