Club Youth: Virginia retain the Ulster U18 Cup

Virginia U18 Girls retained the Ulster U18 Cup with a convincing 78 – 12 win against Monaghan U18 Girls at Clogher Valley RFC on Sunday afternoon.

The final club game of the season finished in bright sunshine, something of a rarity in a season characterised by postponed matches and Virginia took full advantage of the ideal conditions to run in six tries in a dominant first half. The tries came from Rachael McEnroe (2), , , and . Mullin enjoyed a fine day from the tee with five first half conversions.

Monaghan fought gamely throughout and recorded two tries of their own with one conversion to give a scoreline of Virginia 40 Monaghan 12 at the break.

McQuade crossed for her second try early in the second half to be quickly followed by Rachael McEnroe who claimed her third and fourth tries either side of a score by . was next up before her sister Rachael completed the scoring with her fifth try of the game. Mullin added four more conversions to give a final score of Virginia 78 Monaghan 12.
