Malone RFC Women host St Mary’s College Dublin on Sunday afternoon at Gibson Park in the first round of the AIL Promotion Play Offs. Kick off 13:00.

The Dublin outfit have been favourites to return to the AIL since their relegation last season, and this match will give the Gibson Park outfit a good indication of how they have progressed this season.

Both teams topped their respective league tables, Malone with 9 wins from 9 and the Gibson Park outfit followed up their league campaign with a convincing win against Ballynahinch in the Junior Cup Final to complete a domestic double.

St Mary’s topped their league with 11 wins from 14 to claim the top seed in their league play offs. They  progressed to the League Championship, and their place in the promotion play offs, with wins against Carlow Coyotes and Railway Union II’s in recent weeks.

I’m looking forward to the game, it will be an interesting bench mark on the standard of the Domestic Women’s game in Ulster.
