Limavady continued on their end of season resurgence with a narrow 15 – 13 victory over Larne in the Kukri Ulster Rugby Championship Division 2 match at the John Hunter Grounds.

Larne enjoyed the better of the first quarter but only had a try from Anton White for their efforts. However Limavady came into the game as the half wore on and Coling Henry crossed for the home side to take the score to 5 – 5 at half time.

Larne went back in front thanks to a Philip Andrew penalty at the start of the second half but Limavady took the lead just after the hour mark when Sam Mackey took advantage of some slack defending to score under the posts. Peter Wilson added the conversion to take the score to 12 – 8.

A solid move off the back of a scum was chipped ahead by Larne for their young winger Jacob Swan to score in the corner to give Larne a 12 – 13 lead with about ten minutes to go.

The visitors had a chance to go further ahead but they missed the penalty attempt and it got worse for the Larne boys when Limavady were awarded a penalty in front of the post with seconds to go. Wilson knocked the kick over to give Limavady a two point win.

Final Score: Limavady 15 Larne 13
