Royal Belfast Academical Institution recovered from their midweek defeat by Larne Grammar 😆 to record an impressive win against Blackrock College. The Belfast boys outscored their Dublin rivals by three tries to two in the 17 – 15 win.

The first half was a tense affair with defenses’ dominating. Jude Postlewaite opened the scoring with an unconverted try to give the home side a 5 – 0 lead. Blackrock pulled back a penalty before the break and the teams turned round with Inst leading 5 – 3.

The game opened up somewhat in the second half with David McCann and Jack Mullan both crossing for Inst and, with Angus Adair converting the second, the Belfast side looked well set at 17 – 3 as the teams went into the final quarter.

However, Blackrock hit back with two late tries, one converted, but, in a tense finish, Inst held on to record a memorable win.
