Ireland U20’s Grand Slam hopes end in Wales

Ireland U20’s Six Nations Grand Slam hopes disappeared with a 41 – 27 defeat to Wales U20’s at Parc Eirias, Colwin Bay last night. 

Wales led 27 – 13 shortly after the break only for the Irish youngsters to pull it back to 27 all within twelve minutes of the restart. Unfortunately Ireland were unable to sustain their revival and a yellow card for Conor Fitzgerald on the hour mark saw the Welsh get back on top. Late tries by Kieran Williams and Jack Pope consigning Ireland to their first defeat this season.
