We all know that Carrick Ladies reach Olympian heights every Sunday afternoon they pull on their boots, but this month they will be hosting a special #IamTeamGB #GiveItaGo event at Woodlawn playing fields as part of a National Lottery event to promote women’s sports.

The activities take place on Saturday 27th of August and run from midday to 4:00pm and are part of an initiative to promote ladies rugby in the area. It will also feature some of Team GB’s Lottery Funded Athletes.

The Carrick Ladies team will demonstrate many of the skills they have learnt playing rugby and there will also be team coaches, fitness instructor, and players on hand who can bring you up to date on ladies rugby in the area. Whether you’ve tried rugby before or not you are encouraged to get along and give it a go in this “taster” day.

The ladies will also be hosting a B.B.Q. and  there will be soft drinks for the kids. Even if you don’t want to play rugby come along and get advice on fitness or even just spectate. It’ll be all about FUN and FITNESS and best of all it’s FREE.

As the ONLY featured Northern Ireland event, and one of only fourteen “I am Team GB” events nationally, it’s a great opportunity to find out about the women’s game at both junior and senior levels. The day’s events are sponsored by ITV who will have their cameras there to record the fun and games.
