Teams are up for Saturday’s RBS Six Nations fixture between Ireland Women and Wales Women. The match kicks off at 13:00 on Saturday afternoon at Donnybrook.
Ireland Women’s Coach Tom Tierney has begun to stamp his identity on the highly successful Women’s side that pushed Ireland to the semi-finals in the last World Cup and this year will be a year of transition.
Star backs Ashleigh Baxter, Alison Miller and Jenny Murphy have committed their short term future to Ireland Seven’s tilt at Olympic Qualification but Tierney will be pleased to welcome back the hugely influential Claire Molloy who takes her place in a very strong back row alongside Toulouse pair Paula Fitzpatrick and Heather O’Brien.
The second row is equally impressive with Sophie Spence and Marie Louise Reilly adding the power but I have a few concerns with the front row which is particularly light on . . .
