Ravens: Ulster Undone by Jersey!

The Ravens went down 37 – 19 to Jersey in the fifth round of the British and Irish Cup. With the ravens only recording two wins to date all play-off hopes are now gone.

Ulster’s points came from tries by Josh Atkinson, David McIlwaine and James McKinney with McKinney adding two conversions.

However the Man of the Match was former Ulster stalward Niall O’Connor who slotted over 17 points in the home sides bonus point win.

Allen Clarke’s men started well enough, racing to a 3 – 12 lead thanks to tries from Atkinson and McIlwaine either side of an O’Connor penalty. The Limavady man slotted over a second penalty before powerful hooker Taione crossed for the home side for an unconverted try to take the score to 11 – 12.

The Ravens pushed for a third try before the break but couldn’t undo the tight Jersey defence and the teams turned round with one point between them.
