A combined Letterkenny/Finn Valley side travelled to Tom Simms Memorial Park on Sunday to take on undefeated Carrick in the Ulster Qualifying League.
The home team kicked off, what turned out to be, an intensely physical half which saw Letterkenny/Finn Valley score twice and convert one try. Sandwiched between the visitors scores, Carrick scrum half Lydine Wilson received the ball from a ruck near the 5 yard line and took it over the try line.
The first half ended Carrick 5 Letterkenny/Finn Valley 12.
Carrick made a massive comeback in the second half, determined that their unbeaten run would not be ended. Another try from Lydine Wilson took the score to 10-12, with the conversion unsuccessful. Wilson againย found the line shortly afterwards but the try was disallowed . . .
