Ulster have been drawn in Pool 5 alongside Leicester, Montpellier and Treviso.
Leicester, who Ulster face in a pre season friendly, will be worrying more about their trip to Ravehill more than Ulster will be worrying about visiting Welford Road plus the pre season friendly will help Ulster acclimatise to the surroundings.
Having beaten French Champions, Castres, home and away last season there should not be that much to fear from Montpellier who finished 6th in the Top 14 this season and perhaps Ulster’s biggest hurdle could come from Treviso who have been somewhat a bogey team for Ulster in the PRo12 over the last two seasons.
All three locations are great trips with Treviso, just north of Venice, one of my personal favourites, I’m also looking forward to visiting the Montpellier in the South of France for some winter sun and Leicester, have always had a welcoming fan base and a great . . .
