PRO12: Ulster 27 Leinster 19

Ulster powered their way to their eleventh straight win in the PRO12 with an impressive 27 – 19 win against Leinster at Ravenhill last night.

The scores came from a penalty try with Nick Williams and Andrew Trimble also crossing. Ruan Pienaar added a penalty and three conversions and Paddy Jackson chipped in with a penalty.

Jackson’s performance was one of the few disappointments of the night with the youngster struggling to shake off last weeks knock as he pulled his first couple of penalty attempts wide. Madigan by comparison looked very assured as he knocked over his first two attempts to give Leinster a 0 – 6 lead on the back of some strange decisions from the hapless Clancy. Fortunately Ulster dominated the remainder of the game to such an extent that even Clancy couldn’t change the outcome of the game.

Ulster pulled back level when a Jackson penalty was followed by a long range effort from Pienaar but shortly . . .

  1. Ha! Ha! It would be a strange one if we went through the season beating every other team twice and then lost the play off final by a point to Glasgow! There’d be some burning of PRO12 flegs that day. lol

  2. Awwwww we will send them virtual hugs then

  3. Sure we did that last year. lol No chickens counted up here by the way – we could go unbeaten in the league and still lose the play off’s. You’d see some disgruntled Brethren then.

  4. I’ve been watching, its a theory that was aired here, id hate to see the brethren do a Saints in the Final

  5. No idea what the penalty count was James, I’m a supporter not a statistician but as Ulster’s scrum was completely dominant I’d say we picked up quite a few pens. lol :p

  6. I don’t think the TMO awarded a penalty try James that would have been a bit unusual to say the least? Best was clearly trapped had moved out of the way and the ball ways playable several feet away from Best.Read more …

I think you have been a wee bit too gentle on Clancy. Shame he forgot his blue jersey!

  8. Was actually the tmo that awarded the try not George Clancy. John if ya gonna be commenting get them accurate. Best was given yellow for not rolling away or even attempting to, was a professional foul and deserved the card.Read more …
