Ulsterman Neil McConkey is getting on his bike for Ulster Rugby in aid of Sport Relief.

Neil came up with the idea of uniting two good causes last month while watching Sport Relief, telling the FRU:

There I was sitting on the sofa, tear in my eye watching Sport Relief, I could just have phoned in and made a donation!

But I decided to get up off the sofa and try and raise a few thousand. I came up with the Heineken Cup Cycle.

I will follow the team on my bike until it’s over, 470 miles done but let’s hope there is another 600 odd ahead – all the way to Twickenham!

So, Neil has got Belfast to Limerick, and back, behind him and in a couple of weeks time he’ll be making the comparatively short jaunt to Dublin for the semi final – after that? Who knows!

Hopefully, when he’s recovered Neil will send us in spme pictures from his trip to Limerick and we’ll keep you updated of his progress during his trip to Dublin on 28th.

You can show your support for Neil by donating on the Sport Relief giving page.
