There’s a small part of Dublin that will be turned into an Ulster stronghold come Saturday as the Gasworks Bar has invited Ulster supporters along to their pre and post match entertainment either side of the Heineken Cup Semi Final against Edinburgh.
The Gasworks Bar and Restaurant, part of the Grand Canal Hotel and close to the Aviva Stadium, will be holding a “simple” Pre Match Quiz with pints for prizes as the Quizmaster works his way through the room seeking out contestants! After the game it’s live music all the way as big band Sweet Corn Riot play in the bar from 8.15pm and a traditional Irish group play in the lobby from 7.55pm.
If you are not lucky enough to win a pint you can purchase stout for 4.50 euro and lager for 5.00 euro. Food will be available with prices starting from 8.50 euro up to 10.75 euro for more substantial fare!
The bar holds approximately 300 and the adjoining lobby has seating for around 100. There is a full range of beers available including “Pull your own pint” tables.
You never know a few pints and you may indeed, meet your love by the Gasworks wall and dream a dream of European Cup glory by the old canal!
