Women’s AIL: Week 3 Preview.

All six women’s senior sides are in action this weekend, which is a bit of a relief with Cooke able to field this week after scratching last weeks game due to an injury carry over from the Women’s Inter Provincials.

The AIL  1 side face Leinster outfit Blackrock at Shaws Bridge in what will be a tough game for the injury hit Belfast side though they will be able to playIreland Squad players Lauren Day, Eliza Downey and Grace Davitt as well as Ulster players Lizzie Ballentine, Emma Lowe, Nikita Armstrong, Shirelle Wilson and Teah Maguire.

However the absence of feisty scrum half Imogen Porter and classy centres Laura Nicholl and Claire McLaughlin is a big loss for the home side who will be looking to strengthen their squad with the inclusion of new players Megan Kelly, Colleen Donnelly and Claire Quinn.

Both sides have played St Mary’s Dublin this season with Cooke losing narrowly at home and Blackrock recording a comfortable win against their near neighbours away from . . .
