Schools: Rugby Rankings 2011-12. Week 1.

In the first ranking of the year Methody and Ballymena Academy take the early lead, both with unbeaten starts to the season. RS Armagh are also unbeaten so far, but have been nudged down to 5th due to Ballyclare HS and RBAI having played superior opponents at this early stage.

Early contenders for the title of ‘dark horse’ are Foyle & L’Derry College and Limavady GS, occupying 6th and 7th place respectively, while three of the more ‘usual suspects’, Regent House, BRA and Wallace HS complete the top ten for this week.

Teams such as Campbell College (15th), Sullivan Upper (16th) and Bangor GS (24th) will be disappointed to find themselves so low in the rankings, but with very few fixtures having been completed so far, one game can improve standings dramatically – expect them to do so in the incoming weeks!

    Shame it’s no longer ‘Annadale’. Letting the girls in was the ruination of a perfectly average boys’ grammar school.
