Rugby Rankings Week 15

by

With a busy week of Cup matches, Trophy games, and even a few friendlies, the rankings have seen quite a bit of movement in places:

One of the first surprises came from East Belfast where Grosvenor GS managed a comfortable victory over Banbridge Academy, a team two places above them in the previous ranking. This win, and subsequent progression into the fourth round, sees Grosvenor move up to 14th (their highest position so far this season) while Banbridge slip down into 21st (in contrast, their lowest).

Staying with the theme of Belfast, but moving into the north, Belfast HS also recorded something of an upset when they travelled to play Larne GS. Although both theams have been closely matched all season, many would have given the benefit to Larne; however, the Belfast team gained a 12-point win that sees them move into 17th while Larne move down to 22nd.
