Match day morning, woke up so so excited! Ireland today have a chance to make history and make the semi finals.. all we need is for  South Africa and Canada both to put in a good performance and for us to win and we are through.  I decided to take a visit to the Canadian and South African apartment blocks to get flags off them to give their teams an extra cheer!!

After lunch I was over watching Canada v France shouting on the Canadians, France started out well scoring an early try –  they were too strong on the day for the Canadian side. Final score finishing up  France 23 Canada 8.

Ireland at this stage need to score 60 to overtake Canada and take the fourth spot, while Australia would need to score 57.  Ireland’s call was belted out at 4.30pm, with the crowd in great form the girls in green put in an early try… could we do it?!

At half time 22-3, at this stage the Australians were up by 50 points and our chances were slipping away.  The full time score finished up 37-3, devastated for the girls that it wasn’t enough to allow us to get into the semis. Nothing can be taken away however from how Ireland performed today, they put everything into the game I’m so so happy my fellow Ulster buddy ELIZA got her name on the score sheet. She had a fantastic game… I was so proud to see her out there.

The next match up is Tuesday where Ireland take on USA, a team we have already beaten, but at this stage this means nothing as they will be looking to qualify to play on Saturday for the 5th v 6th seeding match.

Another big match ladies, game on!

Ireland v Kazakhstan: Live from Lauren.

The girls now go into a play off for 5th place facing either USA or Scotland depending on the result between USA and England.

It’s all over at Guildford with the match ending 37 -3 to Ireland. A fantastic effort from the girls but just not enough for that 4th place.

Australia finish their game winning 62 – 0. Ireland need to win by 67 points to get that forth place.

Joy Neville gets another 37 – 3 to Ireland.

Ireland have put on all their subs and it’s brought another score through O’Loughlin. Now 32 – 3 with 15 min to go. Come on girls!

Aus have scored another try now leading 55 – 0 so Ireland now need to win by 60 points – it’s a big ask!

Ireland currently lead 27 -3 with tries from Briggs, Neville, Beamish, Brennan and DOWNEY. It’s possible they can still do it but it’s going to be tight.

OK. As it stands with the second half kicking off in Ireland’s game, Australia are currently beating South Africa by 50 points and are now the main threat. Canada (who lost earlier to France) are now out of the top four and Ireland need to beat Australia’s final score by 5 points.
