WRWC 2010: Downey to start against Kazakhstan!

by

, , , ,

We are delighted to announce that Cooke and Ulster’s Eliza Downey is starting on the wing for Ireland Women’s crunch match against Kazakhstan tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. KO 16:30.

It’s a huge game for Ireland, for if Canada beat France earlier in the afternoon the Irish girls have a great chance of finishing in the top four, with a re-match against England in the semi-finals the most likely outcome, giving Ireland their best ever finish in the World Cup..

Hopefully Eliz-a-tron will use the frustration of watching from the sidelines for the last few matches and the flying winger from Rathfriland, Co Down will bag a couple of tries and put herself in contention for place in the team for the playoffs!

Good luck to the Irish girls for their big match, and especial good luck to “our” Eliza.

It must have been all the good advice she got in the Scoop Bar at Ravers after the Bath match that swung it! 🙂

But seriously, well done. I’m sure you will take it in your stride. We will all be cheering you on. I can feel a little tear coming already. 🙂 🙂
