Ireland A 35 Scotland A 10, 13th February 2009

A big Ulser contingent took part in this game with Trimble, Cave, McCrea, Caldwell, Humphreys, Andress, Boss and O’Donoghue all getting a run out for Ireland and Dewey and Danielli starting for Scotland.

Unfortunately it was a match to forget as Ireland completely dominated up front but half backs Reddan and Sexton failed to make good use of the ball. Sexton in particular had a very poor match and showed few glimpses of his form from two seasons ago. He now needs to be taken out of the spotlight and spend some time re-discovering his form. Why Humphreys wasn’t brought on to replace him is a complete mystery.

Of those on display only Ulster’s McCrea and Leinster’s O’Brian came out of the game with any credit.

One to forget.
