Hi ED have you any hints n tips for travel to the Benetton Treviso game 26/27/28 NOV
Jordy. Hopefully get Treviso up this weekend. It’s definately another great trip and I fancy going on that one myself.
While admin is digging through his travel brochures you can have a look at this one done for our last HEC match there, travel still the roughly the same but lack of flights to either Treviso or Venice from anywhere in Ireland, so it’s connect across the sheugh or fly Dublin to Milan with Aer Lingus then hire a car or if enough go perhaps a bus could become an option it’s about 3 hours mostly on motorway

Our friends over on the UAFC also do a series of travel guides for most of the Magners venues though they are getting a bit dated Rooster lol. Haven’t seen any of you at any Magners League away games for a long time.
Well I have visited Treviso within the past year and very little has changed in town, in fact very little seems to have changed in Treviso in the past couple of hundred years except they built a rugby stadium !
Anyway have my flights and hotel already booked for this year
Is anyone going to Aironi in September?
Thought you might be going to explore before the January trip !
Flights look pretty expensive for that weekend to Milan.
Yes Rooster but you can fly to Parma ,which is closer, from Stansted for about £40 return at the moment. Trying to get a group of four. Interested?
I’ll take a miss on it as I will probably be working that weekend and leave the reconnaissance in your capable hands to work out the prime eating and drinking spots for the January trip, I’ve got the flights booked for it. If work situation changes I may join on a last minute flight.
A wee word of warning for anyone who has not visited Treviso before, Treviso is not only a town but also a province in Italy so check your possible hotel details to see where are actually located or you can easily find yourself miles away from where you actually think you will be, bit like thinking you are staying in Armagh but actually finish up beside the Moira roundabout, with not a lot of taxis or other transport available, some travellers discovered this to their cost last time.
Aironi are based in Viadana (MN) or Mantua there are a couple of other small villages also called Viadana in Italy so make sure you get the right one there as well, although it is hardly likely as no hotels in or near the others.
Cheers Rooster – thanks for the words of warning!
If anybody has booked for the Benetton Treviso game 26/27/28 NOV any chance of letting me know there flight and hotel plans, there is a few of us wanting to go and the HC Bath game and ML Cardiff game last season where about my limits.
There are some of us going from Dublin to Milan with Aer Lingus then driving up to Treviso, other options are fly to Stansted and then get O’Leary air to Treviso or fly to Gatwick and get the Easyjet flight to Venice, the only other flight direct from Ireland is O’Leary air Dubblin to Treviso but you will have to go Thursday and home Tuesday unless the match is Saturday evening then you could go Saturday to Tuesday. Probably a few other options as long as you are prepared to do 2 stage flights.
Forgot to say we are staying in Carlton hotel, Continental is another beside it or next nearest to centre of Treviso is the Al Fogher, but it is a fair walk away from the train station if you fancy a trip to Venice.
