The Club House
The Front Row Union was founded in December 2005 as somewhere to show our tour photos and as an outlet to allow us to have a pop at some of the more “excitable” of Ulster’s loyal band of supporters.
Originally we were joined by the boys from SCOOP who kept us up to date with all the shenanigans from the “dark side” of the terrace, particularly the 2nd Barrier Up Crew.
Unfortunately The FRU could not contain these colossus’ of Ulster Rugby and they quickly spread their wings and enveloped the Ulster Rugby Supporters Club which they now rule in perpetuity.
The FRU has continued in several guises over the years until we finally settled on our “blog” based format. Along the way we have produced hundreds of “articles” on Ulster Rugby and it’s supporters as well as showcasing thousands of photos from our many tours. We’ve also made hundreds of friends from the world of rugby, not least the gorgeous UW Milwaukee Lady Panthers.
We’ve raised hundreds of pounds for local charities and had a great time supporting Ulster Rugby – win, lose or draw and we hope you’ve had a good time reading about it.
I’d like to thank Parky and Insider for their continued support and huge thanks to our Presidente, Justin Fitzpatrick, for his support in organising our Awards Nights which have quickly become a feature of the Ulster supporters calendar.
Finally, thanks to the tens of thousands from over 100 countries who have taken time to click on the site.
If you missed the early years you can follow our progress below. Everything else after May 2008 is covered in our blog.

Greetings John. I am presently working away @ moment and enjoy catching up on the site. Keep up the good work and forward anything you believe I might find interesting. Some old pics bring back happy days of the days of the terrace and Guinness. Unfortunately dry here. 51 days now who is counting!!.
Kind Regards Ken
Hi Ken – hope things are going well in foreign climes! If Phil has your address we’ll have to see if we can get a FRU tee out to you. That would be bound to help!
