We are delighted to announce that The Front Row Union will be adding Girls U18 Ulster League coverage to our portfolio this season as we continue our seven year push to get more women and girls involved with this great sport.

We already provide the largest coverage of Women’s Rugby in Ireland and following on from out hugely popular coverage of the U18 Girls Inter-provincials we feel it is time to give the girls an equal billing alongside our boys schools coverage.

There are seven teams taking part this season in the Ulster League, as follows:

  • City of Armagh
  • Dungannon
  • Enniskillen
  • Larne
  • Malone
  • Monaghan
  • Virginia.

And I suppose that we better declare an interest here in that The FRU are sponsoring and helping coach Larne  U18 Girls who we confidently expect to win the league  😀  😀  😀

Joking aside, it promises to be a cracking wee league this season which will feature a lot of the players involved in the recent Inter-provincial series. Defending champions Virginia will start the series as favourites but all the sides are expected to be much more competitive this season.

There are six teams in action this weekend, the fixture as follows:

  • 13:00 City of Armagh v Larne
  • 13:00 Enniskillen v Dungannon
  • 13:00 Virginia v Malone

With Monaghan kicking their campaign off the following week with an away trip to Larne.

We’ll be covering Larne at Armagh and Dungannon at Enniskillen this week but we’ll catch up with all the sides throughout the season.

Do you agree or disagree? We'd love to read your comments.
