Ulster Barbarians wheelchair rugby side hosted the Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour the Antrim Forum last night. Accompanying the trophy was Irish International Ilse van Staden and World Cup Ambassadors Lynn Wilson, Ulster player Jordanne Booth and Gaelic Warriors player Amy Fitzpatrick.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, John Scott was on hand to welcome the trophy.

Former Ulster, Ireland and Lions player, Trevor Ringland was also in attendance, following a successful promotion of wheelchair rugby over the weekend when the Ulster Barbarians and the Junior Ulster Barbarians played a Trevor Ringland Select Team and the Dublin-based Gaelic Warriors side in a series of exhibition matches at St Joseph’s College, Belfast.

After a series of photographs of the players with the Women’s World Cup Trophy the Ulster Barbarians treated us to a series of enjoyable exhibition matches with Van Staden, Booth and Wilson all joining in following intensive instruction by Fitzpatrick. Van Staden showing her competitive edge with a brace of scores!
