The teams have been announced for tonight’s PRO12 fixture between Edinburgh and Ulster at Murrayfield. Kick off 7:45 pm, live on Sky Sports.
With both Ireland and Scotland featuring in the World Cup Quarter Finals the match is a small appetiser before the main course and is likely to be played in an empty stadium, which struggles at the best of times to generate an atmosphere, and getting up for this match is likely to be Ulster’s main problem.
On paper Ulster are far and away the stronger side but they capitulated miserably to Scarlets in their only other away game this season and Edinburgh have won three out of three so far with home wins against Leinster and Ospreys either side of an away win against Treviso.
Despite having plenty of experience on the pitch Ulster have struggled to show the requisite leadership for a few seasons now and scanning the list below there are few I would rely on to rally the troops if things get tight. However, Gilroy, Trimble and Tuohy need . . .
