Women: Davitt moves to coaching role.

Cooke Women RFC have appointed, ex-Irish International, Grace Davitt to be their Head Coach for the coming season.

The Front Row Union recently announced Davitt’s retirement from provincial rugby but unfortunately, after recurrent knee problems, this exceptional player has been forced to hang up her boots. However, she will continue in an influential role at Cooke RFC who have appointed her coach of the  Women’s 1st XV as they begin their campaign in All Ireland Division 1.

Commenting on her new appointment Davitt said;

“I’m delighted to be continuing my career with Cooke RFC in a new role. I’ve been so lucky to have such a long playing career, but I have to be sensible about my own well-being, so playing just isn’t an option for me anymore.”

Davitt will be going under the knife in May for planned surgery to help fix the on-going knee problem. She continued;
