Club: Blood, Sweat and Beers at Lanzarote Beach Festival!

by

The FRU’s resident bon viveur, Steve Love, managed to fit in some rugby during one of his regular jaunts to Lanzarote, this time taking part in the “almost legendary” Lanzarote Beach Rugby Festival.

Regular readers will know of the strong Ulster connection with rugby in Lanzaland, with Lanzarote RFC stalwart, Leroy Heatley, being a long time and active supporter of the site. We really must return the favour and send out a FRU All Star Select side next year! [Anyone interested email me here.]

To get you in the mood we’ll let Stevie tell the story in his own words:

The sandy dust has settled on the 6th International Beach Rugby Festival, hosted by our good friends Lanzarote RFC at Estadio Playa Honda last month – so we thought we would highlight the good work done by Larne man in exile Leroy Heatley and his committee, in continuing to spread the rugby gospel under the blue skies and sunshine of the Canary Islands.
