PRO12: Ulster steal points against Edinburgh fringe!

Ulster came out on top against Edinburgh with a 17 – 20 win at Murrayfield on Friday night. The result sees Ulster move into second place in the PRO12.

Ruan Pienaar dominated the scoring with a try, two conversions and two penalties in his fifteen point haul and Darren Cave continued his rich vein of form with a second half try. However it wasn’t so much a case of Ulster winning this one as Edinburgh throwing it away following a poor kicking return from out half Tom Heathcote which left their side of the scoreboard light 12-15 points!

It was a bit of a topsy turvy match all the way through. Ulster started well and dominated the opening exchanges only to be stung with a sucker punch of a try on the ninth minute as Burleigh touched down following a punt return in a rare period of possession for Edinburgh.

Ulster responded almost immediately working their way up to the Edinburgh line for Pienaar to dart over from the back of a ruck close to the Edinburgh . . .
