We travelled more in hope than in expectation but the young inexperienced Ulster side produced a dogged and gutsy display to complete a league double over Munster at a wet and windy Thomond Park on Saturday evening.

The game was far from a classic but it was exactly the kind of display that Ulster’s second stringers have produced all too infrequently in past seasons and on the back of similar gutsy performances against Saracens and Leinster the game confirmed a definite attitude shift within the Ulster camp.
