Six Nations: Baxter returns for Welsh clash.

Ulster’s Ashleigh Baxter has recovered from injury to take up a bench spot in Ireland Women’s Six Nations match against Wales this Friday evening at Ashbourne RFC. KO 7:30pm.

Baxter joins fellow Ulster players Amy Davis and Grace Davitt on the bench with Larissa Muldoon and Stacey Lea Kennedy both starting to bring the Ulster contingent to five.

Muldoon replaces Davis in the starting line up (I’m looking forward to seeing how this tussle for the scrum half spot develops throughout the series) and Head Coach Philip Doyle has made one further change with Munster legend Niamh Briggs starting at full back in place of Jackie Shiels who drops to the bench.

Unsurprisingly, after the comfortable win against Scotland, the rest of the team remains the same though this promises to be a tougher challenge against a Welsh side who will be smarting following their one point defeat to the Italians in the opening . . .
