PRO12: Teams up for Ulster v Edinburgh.

Ulster Rugby have announced the team for tomorrow night’s PRO12 fixture against Edinburgh at Ravenhill. Kick off 7:05pm.

I’m somewhat surprised to see Dan Tuohy and Luke Marshall in the squad as both really should be on international duty but given the apathy surrounding the Ireland camp last week it’s a welcome bonus that we have them back playing for our own wee country!

Craig Gilroy and Iain Henderson return from injury with Gilroy starting at fullback alongside Andrew Trimble and Michael Allen in the back three.

The baby faced assassin, Iain Henderson, starts in a rumbustious second row alongside Lewis Stevenson with big Dan on the bench so plenty of pith in the boiler room and with Callum Black, Rob Herring and John Afoa are named in an unchanged front row the front five should be the deciding factor between the teams.

Luke Marshall and Darren Cave have both been released by Ireland and start in midfield with James McKinney and Paul Marshall selected in the half . . .

Is there anyone else out there that was at the Ravens game last week think that Doyle was the best player on the park? I can think of two right away that had far better games. M Allen & N Annett. Have to say really no sure about Doyle at all

  2. Good news for ulster, pity about Leinster v New Zealand on Sunday!!!,

Good team, great bench but…… where is Jared Payne@ Injured or having the night off?

  4. Looks like a good team and strong bench…..but what about Jared Payne, injured or just having some time off?

    1. I’d guess he’s carrying a knock Neal or called up to Ireland 6 months early!
