Oh dear, that was a bit of a damp squib! I’d predicted a big win for Ulster in this one with the forwards dominant but, to be truthful we didn’t really deserve that one did we?
My plans for the day were to leave Larne at 10:oo am and head down to Dublin to cover the Queen’s Ladies game against Garda then nip on down to Galway and watch the Ulster game on iPlayer. Unfortunately, despite getting up at 6:00 am, I had soooo much work to do on the site that 10:00 am came and went and I decided I’d stay and watch the Ulster game – pah! The girls completed their league season unbeaten with a 38 – 7 win against the Irish Police side, playing some lovely rugby, and I wish I’d gone to watch it instead of the dross served up on the red button!
My spies had told me that Ulster Rugby spent over 11 hours travelling yesterday to get to the land of the Zebre’s, which is a big X in the old World Domination checklist, and the team certainly played as if they were still groggy. There . . .
