Ireland: Iain Henderson and Luke Marshall called into Ireland Training Squad.

Having flagged Iain Henderson a few years ago we at The Front Row Union are delighted to see that he has been called up into the senior Ireland training squad. Henderson is joined in the squad by Luke Marshall and while it would be a surprise to see either of them involved in this season’s Autumn Internationals it is a recognition of solid progress by these two youngsters to receive the call up.

Ulster players Rory Best, Tommy Bowe, Darren Cave, Tom Court, Stephen Ferris, Declan Fitzpatrick, Chris Henry,  Andrew Trimble and Dan Tuohy take the provinces  representation into double figures for the first time in many a year but it is a surprise and a disappointment not to see Craig Gilroy in the list, especially considering some of those who did make the cut!

While the squad could be considered experimental for Kidney it must be noted that there are still plenty of the old guard hanging around, with more expected to be parachuted in once they get a few games under their belt, and it will more than likely the same old faces being flogged for another season once the final cut is made.
