Ulster Raven’s recorded their second win on the bounce in the British and Irish Cup with a 13 – 28 win over Scottish outfit Currie.
The Ravens pulled out the win with tries from Chris Cochrane and Ricky Andrew added to a penalty try. Out half James McKinney added two conversions and three penalties.
From the sketchy reports we’ve been able to pick up on the game it appears that the Ravens dominated the game up front with second row pairing Neil McComb and Tim Barker impressive in the tight and loose. The front row had a good game with Callum Black and Conor Carey catching the eye alongside veteran hooker Andi Kyriacou.
Ali Birch had a strong game in the loose and James McKinney controlled the game well with pin point kicks.
Thanks to a strong defensive effort Currie remained competitive throughout, going into the final quarter at 13 – 13 but the Ravens managed to close out the game as the home side ran out of puff.
