So much for my predictions in club rugby this season so far. After predicting four home wins this weekend I’m ashamed to say that I only got one right with Barbridge the only team to record a victory on their own turf ,with another win againt Armagh! Ironically, that was the one result I wasn’t to sure off, but, with the current hold Banbridge have over their near neighbours I’m sure they wish they played them every week!

Plaudits of the weekend go to City of Derry who beat the mighty ‘Hinch 34 – 40 in a highly entertaining encounter at Ballymacarn Park with the visitors refusing to give up t otake the game in the dying minutes.

My friends at Dungannon are showing patchy form with another defeat at Stevenson Park in a dour game against Ballymena, with the visitors coming out on top with the odd penalty in seven for a 9 – 12 win.

Back in Belfast, Instonians made the short trip to the Dub and returned with the spoils beating Queen’s 26-28.

So Banbridge, City of Derry, Instonians and Ballymena march towards the semi final draw which takes place at Ravenhill this Thursday.

Results.

Dungannon 9 – 12 Ballymena
Queens University 26 – 28 Instonians
Banbridge 15 – 0 Armagh
Ballynahinch 34 – 40 City of Derry
