The entire table has had something of a shuffle this week as a few surprise results occurred during in the past number of days:

Methody’s victory over Belfast rivals RBAI did nothing to change their respective positions (1st and 8th), but the teams that lie between them is a different matter, with Ballyclare HS moving back into 2nd with a win over Wallace HS (Wallace now in 7th place), despite their midweek defeat to Limavady GS, who are still unbeaten and now in 4th position.

Their cause was helped by Ballymena Academy moving down into 3rd after a great result at home for Regent House who move back into the top-ten at 9th.

BRA might start to worry about their prospects for this year after losing out to RS Dungannon; while there was only one place between them last week, most would have expected BRA to win this game comfortably. As it is, Dungannon hold onto 13th place while BRA slip down into 16th.

Portadown College may also feel that, while it hasn’t quite burst, the bubble is certainly deflating. After an unbeaten start in five games, Portadown have now lost two on the bounce, their latest defeat at the hands of Sullivan Upper who move up two places into 12th to sit just under the College team in 11th.

Final mention this week goes to Dalriada who finally managed to secure a win this season, and a good one at that as their opponents, Cambridge House, were seven places above them in last week’s table. As it is, Dalriada now find themselves in 25th while Cambridge move down three places into 23rd.

Important fixtures for this Saturday (29-10-11):

Cambridge House v Rainey ES: A match for two teams who are not only close geographically, but also in the rankings

Foyle & L’Derry v Coleraine AI: The north-west derby heads to the Walled City

RS Armagh v RBAI: Belfast Inst have another tough away fixture this week against high-fliers Armagh

Coleraine AI made it to the Cup semis last year despite being in a similar position at this stage of the season; but yes, the B-R-A, are in B-A-D shape this year!
