European Finals Weekend and I was fortunate enough to see them both thanks to the wonders of the internet-webby-peer to peer thingy.

[I was without Sky for 6 weeks thanks to their ineptitude. They told me the exact same bull four times on how to fix the problem with my card. Didn't work the first time and didn't work the 4th and by that time I realised I wasn't missing it so cancelled my account.]

You can usually find alternative commentaries on the matches, which can be “interesting” to say the least, but this weekend everyone seemed to be streaming some variation on the SKY coverage. I had to laugh as they wet their pants over Quins snatch and grab on Friday night in what was a truly awful game of formulaic rugby. Maverick Danny Care was either going to win or loose the game through his unpredictability and it so happened that fate came down on his side this time though I still think it was a sliced chip and chase for himself!

There was no comparison between the Challenge Cup and the European Cup in terms of quality with first Northampton and then Leinster turning it on in some style – even the scrums were a joy to behold.

Leinster’s comeback was incredible with the complete about face showing just how much of this game is played in the head as well as on the pitch – something Ulster have yet to conquor.

Amlin Challenge Cup: Harlequins 19-18 Stade FrancaisHeineken Cup: Leinster 33-22 Northampton The weekend results have led to few changes at the top of the Predictions League, with brianc and general prom being the only two of the main contenders to drop points.

As we go into the final week everyone down to Stormin is still in with a chance, though a fair few are relying on a draw to be able to leap frog the leaders.

I’ve included a tie-breaker question on this weeks entry form, which you can find here. Remember were looking the total points scored by both sides not the score for each team so if you think Munster are going to win 15 – 10 the total points is 25.

The Tie Break will only come into play should two or more contestants tie for the lead.

So, not only is this the final week of this season’s Predictions League but it is the final Magners League game ever, with the competition changing sponsors over the summer. Fiat are being touted as likely sponsors – which will be interesting with a large re-branding planned.

The game will be covered live on BBC according to the broadcast schedule though it has yet to be clarified if it will be on terrestrial or digital.
