David McIlwaine and Chris Cochrane to renew acquaintances this Saturday?

The Ulster Championship of the IRFU Club 7′s takes place at Deramore Park this Saturday afternoon, 7th May 2011.

The Senior competition features 10 teams from the Ulster Senior League with quite a few of the sides renewing their acquaintances from last Sunday’s Manvik Premier 7?s at Carrickfergus.

Pool 2 looks particularly interesting with three of Sunday’s semi-finalists, Belfast Harlequins, City of Derry and Dungannon,  all drawn in the same Pool and all three will be keen to get revenge over Sunday’s competition winners Queens who look clear favourites to qualify from Pool 1.

Ballymena, Malone, Ards and Instonians will be keen to improve on Sunday’s performances and with the addition of  unknown entities Banbridge and Ballynahinch there’s sure to be a bit of added spice in this competition. Certainly the final game in Pool 2 between Hinch and ‘Gannon promises to be a fiercely contested affair!

The matches kick off at 12:00 with a full schedule all the way through to the final at 16:15 with the winners of the Ulster Championship going through to  the IRFU Club Sevens All-Ireland Championship, to be held at St. Mary’s College RFC in Dublin on Saturday, May 21.
